| Name: | Kadaj |
|---|
[IC Information]
Character Name: Kadaj
Series: Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Species: Jenova Clone, or remnant of Sephiroth however you wish to see it. Kadaj really doesn’t care what you think either way. XD
Sexuality: Don’t ask don’t tell
Appearance:
Kadaj sports the blue-green eyes with silted pupils, and smooth hair that resembles liquid silver that is the trademark of his bloodline. His hair is don in such a style that it subtly falls over his left eye (a trait that proves to be rather annoying at times yet he can’t bring himself to change it). A lithe, sleek frame is covered by a tight, black, riding leathers that seems to be better titled a ‘a second skin’ that he’s become rather accustomed to and rarely feels comfortable wearing anything else now. The dark outfit provides a stark contrast with his pale, pale skin that could easily be compared to that of a porcelain doll. Standing at 5’6 he is a little short for his age, but he doesn’t seem to care much, mostly because he knows he can hand people’s asses to them anyways.
Additionally Kadaj has a tattoo of the number 14 on the bottom of his right foot.
Personality:
Kadaj has a rather complex psyche, littered with small amounts of certain “issues” yet it still able to come off as completely and utter sane in every way (very much like Sephiroth). Starting off with his both Inferiority and Oedipus complex, both subtle in nature. Kadaj is always, constantly seeking his mother’s approval, wanting to please her in anyway possible (even though she is just a “presence” in the air itself, even though she isn’t a psychical being). He finds himself trying to prove to “Mother” (Jenova) that he, is in fact better than Sephiroth, although he finds himself incompetent to do so. Even going so far as to state how unbearable it would to even think that Jenova would want Sephiroth rather than himself. However, being so eager to appease Jenova, he was dedicated to resurrecting Sephiroth, despite the deep feelings of jealousy and hatred he harbored for the man, for the mere purpose of initiating The Reunion (the instinct that draws all whom share Jenova’s cells together).
Along with his hatred for Sephiroth, Kadaj also has a certain distaste for humans. The ones, whom he views stole the planet from Jenova, took what was rightfully hers. The only people he shows some form of distant, almost reluctant affection/attraction for/to are his two elder brothers: Loz and Yazoo. Due to his twisted child-like demeanor and emotionally repressed attitude (caused by not having any real human contact until her was about 11 or 12 years old) he finds it very difficult to express what affection he does have for them.
Abilities:
Kadaj is much like a cat in many ways. His movements are quick, agile, and extremely precise. Lithe bone structure and rapid movements combined with extensive knowledge of the use of a blades makes him a deadly opponent. In his hands even a broomstick can be considered a threat. Like both of his brother his also has a bit of training in hand-to-hand combat, although would much prefer to use something sharp.
Weaknesses:
Due to the lack of Jenova’s presence in this world Kadaj will begin to develop a self-loathing “counterpart” or “inner voice” that constantly berates him for “failing mother” (see History for details) That , on top on an already present Inferiority Complex as well as a slight Oedipus Complex when it comes to Jenova. He also suffers violent, vivid nightmares from time to time (which he is not so willing to admit).
Kadaj also has a tendency to get himself lost in a battle, sadistic mannerisms causing him to “play” with his prey before ultimately killing it. Which at times leaves himself open for an attack.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History:
[I have spoken with both Loz and Yazoo’s mun and will suggest the Fanfiction Wolfsong (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3242810/1/Wolfsong) if you wish to look deeper into the details of the Clones past.]
Kadaj spent most of his childhood (if you could call it that) in solitary confinement within the many Shin-RA labs. There he was experiment upon experiment, test upon test, with only the voice of his “Mother” within his head to comfort him. Kadaj, being the final Sephiroth Clone created was obviously made as close to the original as possible. That being said Sephiroth’s volatile, cruel and somewhat vengeful tendencies see more prevalent in Kadaj.
It was through this that Kadaj’s introverted and independent nature originated, while experiments turning him bitter. It wasn’t until he was ten years old that he even knew his two older brothers (Loz and Yazoo) existed. When he was finally relocated from one “prison” to another, one to share with them, he refused to leave his reserved attitude, even for his brothers. He still has a hard time with it in the present. He was content to remain distant if only because he didn’t know how to express his gratitude, his appreciation for their presence.
A few years later Kadaj started to feel the pull of the Reunion instinct, the need to rejoin as one, to become whole again. Being the closest linked to both Sephiroth and Jenova being confined in the labs was unbearable to the point that it was painful. Eventually, Kadaj and his brothers escaped their prison and began their journey (lead by the pull of Jenova and his mother’s sweet, sweet voice)to the Northern crater. (Un?) Fortunately, the failed to reach the Reunion in time, thus cause the trio of brothers to be part of the hand full of clones that remained.
After that, Kadaj was driven by the want, the need to finish his Mothers work, reclaim what was rightfully hers. The planet. Kadaj knew that finding, and reunited with Mother would be difficult, but utterly necessary, and all-important. Even with all his doubts and concerns with Mother loving Sephiroth more himself. She needed them regardless.
For years after the end of the original game he led his brothers on a search of any remnants of Jenova. Taking it upon himself to resurrect Sephiroth and begin a second Jenova reunion.
The last thing he remembers before appearing in Manhattan was dieing in that filthy traitors arms, with a soft rain falling down upon him , and what he believed to be his Mother’s voice calling out to him….
….calling to him, before he was placed in this “hell”.
